It is ironic that the guy who claims we have agency says we have no choice but to live in a dying world where we are slowly cooking ourselves to death. And his brilliant justification is that the opposite of capitalism must be poverty and suffering. In fact, like all mindless far right extremists, he just repeats the religious dogma that market failure requires more prices and markets. Instead of acknowledging the reality that markets and prices create and require poor desperate people to spend their lives serving the wealthy. And he totally ignores the entire scientific world and common sense that the economy and his favorite toilets won’t exist if the wealthiest create conditions that are no longer survivable for life. Ecological collapse and the failure of natural systems are the consequence of his bad advice, not the optional indulgences of people with feelings. Rich powerful people are scared because they know they are the problem, so we get manipulative monologues like this.
